Default 2013 C Dominic Woodson Visit

He will be on campus Sunday per Chad Brendel.
Chad(247) has him as a PF Rivals has as a 4 star C.
This could literally solidy the 2013 class.

Literally a BIG big deal

http://blogs.courier-journal.com/jod...minic-woodson/

Dominic Woodson, who is originally from Louisville and still has family living in the city, is considered one of the top center prospects in the Class of 2014.

The 6-foot-9 center said he holds an offer from U of L and the coaching staff traveled to Vermont Academy several times last season to see him play.

But it appears the Cardinals are now looking other directions for a center in the Class of 2013.

Woodson said during the NBA Top 100 Camp the last time he heard from the U of L staff was when Richard Pitino left his position as an assistant coach in April.

“I haven’t talked to them,” Woodson said.

Woodson lived in Louisville for 14 years and then moved to Round Rock, Texas. He spent last season in Vermont but said he’s currently looking for another prep school.

Woodson said other offers on the table include, Oklahoma, Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Cincinnati and Memphis. He is expected to visit Cincinnati this week.

While he said he would “like to come back to Louisville,” Woodson said he “doesn’t communicate” with his mother, two older sisters and older brother who all live in the city.

I'm not sure about kinesiology as a study, the human biomechanics courses were excellent in mid '90s.

From the Kinesiology Institution Database for available Kinesiology related majors and available degrees we would be on the bottom of his list if the kid wants to pursue a Masters Degree or a Doctorate in Kinesiology with Texas A&M presumably at the top. Hopefully Mick and the Health Sciences department can sell the kid on getting his Bachelors here.

University of Cincinnati: Bachelors in Health Sciences
Oklahoma: Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate in Health & Exercise Science
Baylor: Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate in Health, Human Performance & Recreation
TCU: Bachelors/Masters in Kinesiology
Texas Tech:Bachelors/Masters in Health, Exercise, & Sports Sciences
Texas A&M: Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate in Health & Kinesiology (#17 Kinesiology Program In The Country)
Memphis: Bachelors/Masters in Health & Sports Sciences

you can't seriously think that will play a big role in his decision, do you? he will be a criminal justice major if he goes to uc.

"They've got to have my major--my major, which, is going to be kinesiology."--Woodson in the video discussing what he's looking for in a school (he also mentioned wanting to be on a team that goes inside a lot and going to a school where he can get on the court as a freshman)

i did watch the video before i posted last night. devan downey also said the school had to have a good business program wherever he went. recruits say this type of stuff all the time. 99% end up majoring in whatever major is tailor fitted for that program- which for UC is, and has been, criminal justice for 20 years now. i can absolutely promise you, that kinesiology will be extremely far down the list on what is ACTUALLY a deciding factor for woodson.

The College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services is located on UC's main campus and consists of three schools, including the School of Criminal Justice. In 2009, U.S. News & World Report ranked the school's doctoral program among the top three criminal justice programs nationwide (www.usnews.com). The School of Criminal Justice is home to the Center for Criminal Justice Research, which consists of the Corrections Institute and the Policing Institute.

Easy compared to what?

Engineering? yes.
Communications? no.

UC is tops in CJ in the nation, however. If you are going to be a cop, forensic psychologist, parole officer, social worker, etc. You could do a lot worse for a degree.

Oh and Dom, if you want to wreck rims your freshman year, me thinks you'll get to do it on this team.
