Default Help from long, long time members

This is a call for help for any members who were around when this was simply a mailing list. Brian McCann contacted me wanting to see if I still had a story he wrote after Kenyon Martin broke his leg in the C-USA tournament.

I remember that it detailed the events of that day from a behind the scenes point of view. The story would have been posted some time in March of 2000. I checked some old archived data that I have stored on the server but it only goes back to June of 2000 so I am a few months short of this post.

Chances are, if you have it, it would be in email form from the days of "bbforum@bearcatnews.com" or possibly even the days of the Gooner/Sandeep mailing list (I can't recall exactly when we switched it over).

Hopefully someone is a bigger pack rat than I am.

I'll check. I had flagged this and saved it a couple of hard drives ago.

shouldn't he be concerned about helping his team in the pennant race?

I nearly ran my car off the road on the way to the bar after class when they announced he broke his leg on the radio. Please don't ever bring that day up again because I will likely hunt down Justin Love with a baseball bat.

i remember exactly where i was too. i was sitting in an operations management class in the CBA auditorium. someone was listening to the game on the radio and actually interrupted class to share the news.

...i don't remember the professor being offended that class was stopped for this news.

I was on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. We had gone to the late show and I got into bed and turned on ESPN and saw the news. I sat straight up in bed and said HOLY SHT. My wife thought the ship was sinking.

The email account I used when BCN was an email group was long ago closed. Sorry I can't help.

I was in that class too. Pretty cool the professor (was it Dr. Matthews?) allowed it.

If it was ole Chuck then he wouldn't have minded at all. One of the best profs I've ever had @ UC and a great guy too.
