I know we are set in guard play, but I wonder since we were recruiting him before, if we might try to after him again. |

Here's the scoop on Ron Patterson
- Just managed to qualify (scores, grades) out of high school) - But got a C- when he needed a C in a summer class in Bloomington -- which was not enough to meet standards (IU or Big Ten, not sure) to participate - Patterson is 6'3, I believe and was always a Rivals 150 player. Many thought he was under ranked and had a big chip on his shoulder - More of a SG, but is best known for his defense (credit to long wingspan), which is not reflected in rankings. - Options: Prep school, Juco, or find another 4-year where he can qualify. He was committed for about 2 years at IU, so if Crean still wants him prep (maybe Brewster) could be good route and try to qualify for 2013. Wouldn't be a bad pickup at all. I don't think he was gonna get much action at IU this year, but they are a Preseason consensus Top 5 team. If Mick thought he could qualify and wants him, I'd definitely take him. If not, good luck to him! |

Zach Osterman, InsideIndiana.com:
Spoke with Chris Hawkins, who confirmed the list that's been circulating of four-year schools asking about Ron Patterson. That list includes Missouri, Ohio State, Purdue, Louisville, Illinois, Memphis, Villanova, IUPUI, Dayton, Providence and Wright State. It sounds like Brewster is still the primary prep option. Kyle Neddenriep of the Star reported tonight that Patterson would likely decide tomorrow what his next course of action is. Dustin Dopirak, (Bloomington's) The Herald-Times: Chris Hawkins, Ron Patterson’s AAU coach, confirmed that a number of schools have been in contact with Patterson since it was announced Wednesday that he will not enroll at Indiana. That list includes Missouri, Ohio State, Purdue, Louisville, Illinois, Memphis, Villanova, Xavier, IUPUI, Dayton, Providence and Wright State. (The list was initially reported by Jeff Rabjohns of Peegs.com) Patterson is academically qualified, which means he could attend any of those four-year schools without penalty. Patterson does have the option of attending a prep school, and if he were to do that, he would almost certainly go to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, Hawkins said.
