Default Bring on the Bobcats!

Cincinnati football signs a home and home with Ohio in 2018 and 2020. It is great to play the OHIO University, but in my humble opinion both games should be at Nippert.

I kinda like the idea of playing in Athens. An excuse to hit Jackie O's!!!

Seriously, Miami and now Ohio? Are these the best teams we can lock up? Looking at this years OOC scheduling and now the announcement of a home and away with Ohio U doesn't fill me with confidence in whoever doing our scheduling. If they want to sell more tickets this isn't how it's done.

I like it because it's another away game we can travel to easily. Hopefully, we will have
2 stronger teams to play in those years as well.

Curious as to who you would schedule, that would sell tix

Let's schedule Florida, LSU and Alabama.

Maybe USC and Michigan would come in too.

Or maybe we can schedule 2 more FCS schools a year! 'Cuz we all know we'd rather play them than Ohio amirite?

We would never had two FCS schools on the schedule if TCU and WVU were still in the league.

Our only option was to schedule those team for one year because of the short notice that those teams were leaving.

UC is much better off having a home game against ANY school rather than schedule a road game.

It's a one year deal. Move on and support the Bearcats.

CBJ confirmed that Whit rejected offers from only 1 game away BCS schools, and there were no home and home offers, so they added another 1AA type school to the home schedule. He stated flatly that considering the situation the athletic department found itself in (TCU/W. Va. departures) they did as well as you could hope and still have 6 home games (7 if you count the one in D.C. that you know who sold).

This is a nicely scheduled game. OU sports are definitely on the rise and the school is as well. I currently attend and have heard that the number of applications by freshman is 4 times as many as last year. Also its an easy trip straight down 32, and if you have never been to Athens. Your in for a treat

Psst, there was sarcasm there. The FCS comment was a jab at the poster who was complaining about scheduling Miami and Ohio. Move on, nothing to see here.

While I'm not particularly thrilled about having to travel to another MAC school, it does remind me of a unique play that I saw when UC visited Athens in 1981. I was sitting right behind one of the end zones and the Bobcats were forced to punt from their own one yard line. The punter, under duress, kicked the ball right into the fanny of his up-back and it squirted out to the right. There was a mad chase for the ball, which the punter won and managed to get off another punt just before being forced out of bounds. The ball arced across the sideline, then hooked back and hit just in-bounds, 60 yards downfield, before taking a right turn and going out for no return.

****, for seasons that far out how about Pitt or WVU? Vandy, Northwestern, Indiana all are from better conferences and within driving distance. We should do one game from the MAC and that's a tradition game.

From a football standpoint this is not ideal. I doubt Frank the Tank will be in Athens 8 years from now and who knows where that program will be. If we are trying to get some respect for our schedule, playing another MAC school is a bad idea.

From a personal standpoint and as far as road games go, this is awesome. Athens is a magical town and makes for an easy drive. Can't wait. It should be noted I am an OU alum and am completely biased for my personal view.

I get your point, just so we are clear, though in my opinion both schools you mentioned are glorified MAC schools. I thought the issue with that particular conference was that the bigger the name got, the less likely we are to get a returned home game

Pitt and WVU would both be games that we should be able to get a home and away deal. They're not glorified MAC teams. They would bring fans that loved seeing the classic games we had against them in the past. What about Kentucky? The scheduling we're getting sucks.

Ohio U is bringing in UC and Kansas! We're bringing in OU? Tell me how that makes sense.

Playing in the Big East of Hawaii Conference and not being close to the richest team in the League--- it make a lot of sense, if we're going to travel OOC, that we stay in Ohio--- we have to save dollars for SD St, Boise, SMU, etc....
