Default Bye Bye Marinatto

Can't say I'm surprised other than the timing - thought it was long overdue, considering the BE had a real opportunity to solidify themselves when other conferences like the B12 were in disarray. What I like most is the fact that Williams is heading up the committee for the next commissioner. At least UC will have some input on the leadership of the BE moving forward.

So not jumping ship was a strategic move in an effort to lead and gain power. We got us some administration!

I hope this isn't a sign that UC is putting all it's chips on the Big East.

I really respect Dr. Williams and everything that he has done for UC. I think it is fine to take a leadership position in the BE and try to keep it intact. However, I think this is a situation where UC needs to be playing both sides of the fence by quietly promoting itself to potential suitors like the B12.

I agree 100%. If the B12 comes calling, we need to jump ship.
Marinatto needed to go a long time ago. He should have been more proactive
& not sit back and have the conference picked apart.

Agree as well if the Big 12 sends an invite we must take it. Marinatto leaving is long overdue poor leadership, no clear direction, had NO respect from schools in the conference. I think the biggest thing that the Big East hired a consulting group to evaluate the structure of the league. Great opportunity to kick the Basketball only schools out, focus on developing the schools whom recently joined. New league new Commissioner.

Let see who they get. My wish Bob Goins, bring him out of retirement!

Too close to the vest, expected, but still a bit underwhelming for us begging for info.

This article more or less states UofL is looking to jump ship to the Big12
