Default Crosstown Shootout - Bank Arena

I guessing there will be quite a few tic'd off season ticket holders because it's a good bet it won't be part of the package.

I don't have a problem if it is not part of the season ticket package. However, if that is the case, the right thing for UC to do would be to give season ticket holders first shot at the available tickets.

If this is not part of the ticket season package & I'm sure the SEC/BEAST game will not be, then there is no reason to buy season tickets. I'll just pick the games I want
to go to & save a ton of money. I've held season tickets for the last 15 years. This is not a decision I want to make. I hope the XU game is included.

Straight up BS, knee JERK reaction.

Honestly, this is a terrible decision. They are effectively putting the players and the fans in a "time out". Thanks for the parenting.

I'm very disappointed in this outcome. And I look forward to 2014 when it's back on campus. It's their job to make it work, not make it go away.

If this is not part of the season ticket package I will certainly re-evaluate my purchase. It's been bad enough with the ridiculous non-conference schedule in the past, now moving this game off the schedule would be terrible.

I'd likely continue to buy season tickets, but I would certainly think twice before committing.

I'll take the optimist side of things in this discussion.

I think moving the game to US Bank has potential. I'm not sure how well it will work. But we have the potential to create the Red River Rivalry of basketball. Half the stands red, the other half dark blue.

With that being said, season ticket holders I suspect will have first access to these tickets. I'm not sure how likely it is that they'll be included, but Xavier fans next year will be in the same predicament that we are in this year.

All in all I think the game could be a huge weekend for the city as a whole. With the banks and all of that it should be an awesome environment. I also think the fight help put the game in perspective for the players and fans. There will always be some words exchanged, but I think the majority of fans from both fan bases want nothing more than to put the events from last year behind.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this game. Even if its not included in my season tickets I'll be the first in line to get tickets.

Taking pessimist route.

Should've just cancelled it. Now we (student section/fans) can't take revenge.

Default Ticket Package

I realize, even if it is part of the ticket package, my seats will not be nearly as good. If it is not part of the ticket package, my seats will be even worse. It is UC's turn to host, UC will be in charge of the game--why shouldn't the UC fans have this game as part of the ticket package? I hate the US Bank venue. My front row seats at Fifth Third have always turned into Row 20 at US Bank.

Who cares. It is national attention. UC's basketball program needs attention in just about any way it can get it.

Default Larkin pops off on WLW

According to Byron Larkin being interviewed on WLW. UC didn't want to play in Cintas Center, "because of their difficulties there" and that UC said according to Larkin. "Play the game downtown or no game".

i'm not a big fan of this idea. that's putting too many emotional fans together (i think i read 8,500 for each school).

if nothing else, we'll get to see how mature the fans are.

I have great respect for Mr. Larkin but I don't believe that. Just my humble opinion.

Jemele Hill just used her face time on around the horn to blast this decision. I agree.

What the eff is Byron "dribble drive" Larkin talking about? The game was scheduled to be on UC's campus for this coming season. Therefore UC has more to lose than Xavier in the first year which will arguably be the most heated of the two seasons it's scheduled to be at US Bank Arena. That quote reeks of homer-bias from X's all-time leading scorer. Take it with a grain of salt.

I may be in the minority here but I support the idea. I trust the UC athletic department will do right by the season ticket holders and either include this game or give season ticket holders first crack at presale. I think the Xavier faithful have shown themselves incapable of handling this rivalry game over the years and their reaction immediately after the incident demonstrated the need to defuse this rivalry a touch. A neutral site is just fine by me. It's better than the alternative which would result in canceling the game.

Someone mentioned the Red River Rivalry and I think you do it exactly like that. Divide it down the middle and put the fans for each team behind their own bench.

I don't like the idea of neutral court simply because the game gets worse every year and Xavier's to blame for it. I want one more home court game before we go to US Bank.

I'll be disappointed if there isn't a riot.

Can you imagine? Actually, on second thought, I absolutely dread the thought of a riot.

According to Brad Johanson channel 12 news, both schools dening any deal to move to US Bank. Maybe one of the parties reconsidering.

From the breakfast: "Let's hope these adults out there can act as such and avoid any altercations."

I'd like to remind Mr. Dehner that adults wage wars, children don't.
