Who cares. It is national attention. UC's basketball program needs attention in just about any way it can get it.

Yea, he lost me after the second paragraph:

My preferred measure of conference strength is using the Pythagorean expectations formula from kenpom.com...
When I see the Big-Whatever rated higher than the SEC, Big East and ACC on his chart for the last couple of years I disagree. How many championships has the Big-Ten won in the last ten years?

Let me think .... ZERO. Last time Big-Ten won it all was Michigan State in 2000.

The SEC, ACC and Big East have won it three times each with the Big Twelve winning in 2008.

Find another measuring stick.

Gotta disagree with your measuring stick. Was the SEC the best basketball conference last year? I sure hope you don't think so.

Was the Horizon League better than the SEC, BEast, Big10, and Big 12 when Butler met Duke in the Finals in 2009? Again, I hope you don't think so.

Yea you're right. I'm probably shooting off my mouth without really thinking about it.

What got to me, though, was seeing the first graph with the BigTen rated higher than Big East or ACC for the last couple years. In recent years both Big East and ACC have been tough leagues.

In my lowly opinion, I think the Big-Whatever is always over-rated.
