"What stood out was the crowd," said Rubles. "When I saw how into the game they were and how many people were there, it was really like a done deal."

Yet another player who loves to play in front of a packed house!

So let's move a big time Cincinnati game off campus.

Looking forward to seeing what T-rub (not a big fan of the lazy nickname ) can do in a Bearcat uniform. And it's always great to get a kid that just truly wants to be a Bearcat!

Are you referring to the classic? I am fired up for the move.

The move is likely the reason I won't be going to the game and watching it on TV

It is more from the convenience of location to a student than out of spite in my case. That arena on campus is very accessible and has lots of shuttles running that could bring someone to it living nearby off campus. Downtown is a little bit trickier.

Yeah, getting to US Bank Arena from campus is soooo difficult.

There are a lot of reasons to disagree with with moving the game off campus. That is one of the weakest. Catch a cab.

I'm sure he wouldn't have any problem getting downtown for concert or something that he deemed more important than a UC basketball game.

That is part of the problem that the marketing people face every day.

We really still talking about this?

As long as T-Rub (haha) makes it there with his teammates, that's all that matters.

Who cares. It is national attention. UC's basketball program needs attention in just about any way it can get it.

We are going to play a game downtown every year. One of the positives about moving the Xavier game down there is we will finally have a decent crowd for that downtown game now.

for a student (translation: your best and loudest fans), that's a $12-15 buck (each way) cab ride (or a nonneutered streetcar trip, but i've been warned about leaving politics out of this board). turning a $10 dollar game into a $40 dollar game, especially considering that school may be out during the game, is an easy way to lose good fans, and ergo a rooting advantage.

I bow down to you, who said it much better than I could have put into words myself.

And no bearcat otto, you would be wrong. Some students just like staying on campus as a self contained ecosystem...we do exist! And we have all the facilities to make it work!

Blackcattitude, Thank you for the politics you left on your plate however, I think a shuttle/streetcar issue is definitely in play here regardless of politics considering students have to find a way to the game and the Ath Dept has not yet disclosed a way for them to do so. I suspect they will have a plan, but as of now it hasn't been communicated to students.

It's kinda a big deal...and it's not like it's from 10 years ago.

But anyhow, hoping this kid can give us something good this year and then hoping for the magically JUCO Jr to Sr jump.

Split a cab with a buddy or two.

Do I need to teach you how to pee standing up too?
