Default Pitt: Blackout , the next step.

Apparently there will be glow sticks to accompany said blackout. People are being encouraged to be in their seats during pregame for the band's Down the Stairs run.

I really wish we could get everyone to their seat early. If my fat butt can get to my seat, I think anyone can.

Who uses seats?

God I am so pumped for this game.

I think I'll just get indi student tickets instead of the season pass this year. Better to be on the safe side for later, but I am day one reserving the Pitt game for sure.

I have no doubt that part of Herbie picking Pitt to win over three other teams that have much more factors going for them in winning a league title is part of the ESPN agenda to further the notion that Pitt leaving the Big East is something the conference can't recover from because they are one of the 'powerhouses'.

Some will say I'm delusional and that's fine. But I don't see how a first time head coach with a sub part QB and an ACL recovering RB (albeit a stud) equates to winning the Big East. Louisville, USF, and Rutgers all have more going for them.

I like Herbie but this is another move by ESPN to drive home the notion to viewers that the conference will hold no value.

I can't wait to hold up the middle finger to them this fall and sign with NBC

I would be amazed if Pitt wins more conference games than they lose this year.

Cincinnati L
South Florida L
Louisville L
Syracuse W
UCONN W
Temple L
Rutgers L

I think 2-5 or 3-4 will happen for Pitt. I am very curious to see how Temple will play, but the Temple Pitt game might be a proving ground for the Temple program.

Unless they picked up a new starting QB I am unaware of, I don't see how anyone could pick PITT to win anything. Their QB is horrible... truly horrible.

I agree with GoUC11,

the Big East turned down ESPN's TV offer some time ago and it appears that negotiations are not going well(even though the commissioner is no longer there). It makes sense for ESPN to have noone see the Big East if they won't be airing their games after this season. The ACC is overrated in my opinion I think next year the Big East looks like a strong football conference. Certainly sucks to lose those 3 for hoops but thats the way it goes...

NBC would be fantastic. If anyone has any good links on how the Big East TV contract negotiations are coming can you please post...

Default Big East hopeful that 4 time-zone coverage appeals to TV networks

I don't expect this to be a hot subject until sometime in October, maybe not untill football season is over. According to the Newsday article, the sixty-day negotiation period with ESPN "starts Saturday." (they're not clear if it's 8/25 or 9/1 in the article as it was published on Saturday).

This means the Big East cannot even talk to NBC or anyone else until the end of October or early November.

It is more than worth it since you get 25 UCATS points for every year you buy student season tickets. That is equal to a $500 donation.

I saw on twitter that all free student tickets were distributed today. Only student tickets that are left are $10 single game / $60 season tickets.

I really hope that if student demand exceeds supply and if general admission "non-student" tickets are available that the athletic department provides any extras to the student body. IMO, a packed Nippert is more important than making money, especially if those seats would've otherwise gone unused.

Keep in mind that Pitt fans are some of the worst travelers in the league. I would assume that they're even less interested in a Big East game, with this being their last season, so we'll probably even have more to sell than normal.

Wasn't the reason Cincy could not win this year the turnover of personnel? Did Pitt have any turnover?

I was wanting to bring my wife & kids to a game and the idea of getting $22.00 tickets sounds great for my wallet (4 kids) but do you think we would be in the middle of a sea of P itt fans if I get some of these returned tickets?? Wondering if anybody knew if a lot of tickets were returned? did Pitt buy a lot? or do you think a lot of other UC fans will scoop up these tickets too? Thanks for any advice anybody could share
