I'm looking forward to seeing Kelly coach a whole season. I think he will do a great job.
I haven't been the biggest Mike Thomas fan, but I think he deserves an A+ for the way he handled the football search and for the quality of coach he was able to hire. I think we are definitely in a better place than when we had Mark D (and I like Mark D). One random thought - I think one factor that played into Mark D's leaving is the fact that Mick Cronin comes in with a huge salary jump from where Huggins was and I assume significantly more than Mark D. Seems like Mike Thomas might have been sending a message - you ain't my guy . . . Go Cats! DF |

Brian Kelly is a fantastic human being who will take some young guys and turn them into MEN (winning a bunch of football games along the way).
Cronin makes more than Huggins did when he left?? Really, I did not know that. |

I need a little help with this one, but if I remember right - Huggins was in the $400,000 range and Cronin came in at $800,000.
Because UC is a public institution in Ohio, this information is available to the public. Anyone have a good link to an article or report? Go Cats! DF |

Here's a link from 2004 showing Dantonio and Huggins' salary breakdown: http://www.enquirer.com/bearcats/2004/05/17/uc1a.html
Near the bottom, it says "University guarantees that Huggins' total compensation package, including all benefits and internal and external revenue, will remain at least $1,000,000." |
