"Student-athletes were named to the honor roll for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better while participating in a conference-sponsored sport." Including the oft-maligned (here) Ronald Allen. |

This is awesome and I hope we recognize their hard work. The media may not recognize this but we should. Good work guys.

There is no way to say this without it sounding awful, but I'd rather have 20 wins and a team GPA of 2.5 (or better) then 11 wins at a GPA of 3.0. I know that looks bad, and is not the way you want to see the team perform, but not going to the NCAA for the last 2 years is not Bearcat basketball. In the ideal world, they could all be over 3.0 and have 25+ wins - Congrats for achieving the great academic performance - but no more Ron Allen's please. Just an opinon - I know it sounds bad. ![]() |

This is great news and everyone on the list should be proud. It is a shame that the University doesn't highlight the Men's BBall program in their announcement. They highlight x-country, rowing, soccer, diving, volleyball, golf, which is all great, but the Men's Basketball team who had 8 of its 10 or 11 players on the list is not even highlighted in the press release. For a school that supposedly wants to change the perception of its renegade basketball program, they sure don't seem like they are interested in pointing out any of the good that is happening.
