Default Lonnie Wheeler predicts 20 - 17 loss to Rutgers

The direct link to his prediction on his blog is below. I suspect that several UC fans will leave comments for Lonnie.

Lonnie makes his living being negative. Once the Cats beat Rutgers and UL, he'll start printing BC Chris' rumors of Kelly moving on to Notre Dame.

You know, if the Bengals keep losing, I fully expect to see "Brian Kelly to coach the Bengals" rumors start popping up*. You heard it here first sports fans, off the record, on the QT, and very hush-hush.

* - of course, anyone who actually supports this idea needs to be reminded of Homer Rice, and in a hurry.

He is picking the Bearcats to cover the spread that has moved from 3 to 4. Seems like more believe Lonnie than us.

Lonnie ain't that bad, he gives UC props all the time. All though he is wrong about that score!
UC will manhandle the Scarlet Knights!

Lonnie's a good guy, and he gives good, solid reasons for his prediction. I'd rather see a prediction I don't like (with some rationale) than a homer prediction just to keep the fans happy.

Of course, I don't agree with Lonny's prediction: I think that UC's defensive style matches well with Rutgers' offense, and UC's offense is just starting to click.

"At 5-0, they're interesting. They're exciting. At 6-0, they'd be serious."

OK article. I think that statement says it all.

30-11 Last Year Was No Fluke....Bearcats are Better This Year, even though they are on the road....why should it even be close? Bearcats Forcing 4 turnovers, quiets the crowd 45-21

I've been too around to use the "last year we did this, and this year......" logic. I doubt this year will go like last year. I don't think we'll hammer them, although I'd love to see nothing more. If we beat them by a wide margin, it will be due to our offense hanging points on them as if they were in the MAC. Last year we pretty much ground it out, save for Celek's big play.

I'm remaining cautiously optomistic.

So glad to see many of UC fans' optimistic on tonight's UC fball game. I think Lonnie is trying to be realistic on his prediction. Like I predicted earlier this week, UC 21 Rutgers 27. Maybe both Lonnie and I are used to many years of the pre-Kelly ERA. I rather to be wrong on this. This is going to be a big test for UC.

I am picking Rutgers to win for my 3 simple reasons:

1.) Many very good teams like Rutgers can't afford to lose 2nd game in a row.
2.) Rutgers is the home team.
3.) Rutgers seeking for its revenge from the last year's 30-11 loss at Nippert.

Dear Lonnie,

Write the article and make sure to include that you were wrong. Thanks
