Lance was selected as the 10th pick in the second round by the Pacers. Not a bad pick considering there is a possibility he gets a good amount of playing time. Indiana needs a lot.

Agreed. While he is probably a little disappointed he falls to a situation where he can help immediately.
Congrats to Lance! |

It had to be rough for him to watch the Nicks pass on him with two consecutive selections. However, Congrats and good luck to Lance I will be making a road trip to indy to see them play the Nuggets no doubt about it!

I was up watching it and after New York passed him up with those two picks, I never thought the Pacers would get him next and went to bed! I think that's a good spot for him; maybe bring excitement to the team...and he's close to catch a game!

Agreed, he came here with a lot of hype, never lived up to his promise, should have stayed at least one more year, then left. His performance here did not earn my love or my loyalty. It was a season that we thought would get us back to the big dance and it turned into an underachievment. I don't have much interest in what he does in the NBA and honestly I don't see him having much impact. It will be hard for him to develop his shot sitting on the bench. The only thing he has going for him is his fire and his heart. Those were what I remember most about him, but once again, his one year here will be remembered for the disappointments. I wish him well, but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch him.

I live downtown Indy and work for Simon....can't tell you how excited I am to have Lance as a Pacer. He will be in a good system, Coach O'Brien will stay on him and he will get some minutes next year.
The Pacers NEED a player like Lance to create some energy and excitement, it's ONLY 1.5hrs up 74 to Indy, I encourage everyone to come up and see the Circle City! |

I'm with you. I hope he does well, but I really don't care if he is out of the league in a few years either. He's just a guy.

Thats shocking to me that there are Bearcat "Fans" that dont care if former players are still in the league a couple years later. I for one hope that any Bearcat no matter how long he is here or what he does while he is here becomes the greatest player on earth. to say that you dont care if he is out of the league in a few years is just dumb.

Its obvious you've never heard of the Lance Stephenson Effect. Lance has single-handedly brought UC back to prominence.

While a lot of people may have bad views on Lance and his time here, the fact of the matter is that he played is college ball at UC.
Everytime they show his profile/bio it will have the word Cincinnati listed for college. As a result we want him to be the absolute best player he can be and stay in the league as long as possible. In my opinion that can only benefit recruiting. |

Lance was not a lottery pick before he came to UC, not even close. Any mock draft prior to last year had him going and as either the very end of the 2nd round or undrafted. I did not see one article that had him being a lottery pick.

The only thing I can say is to wish him the best luck with his new NBA career.
We need to worry about UC's next basketball season. It needs to be the best one since 2005.

I never said he was a lottery pick coming out of high school. I said it was arguable. And based on athletic ability and potential, there were definitely people out there making the argument. In the sny.tv article that announced his intent to go to UC, someone said he would've been a late lottery pick in the '09 Draft. Some even thought he could've been an NBA impact player back when he was 17. So yeah, he was arguably a lottery pick his senior year of high school. Just like I said he was. But you'd be silly to think his NBA draft stock did anything but plummet in the past year.

Columbus Bearcat, before he came to UC many New York publications implied he was a sure-fire first round pick if they did not have the one and done rule.

Lance was fun to watch because he gave great effort, something the rest of our so-called stars didn't do. Had they matched his intensity, we would have easily made the NCAA tournament. That being said, the one-and-done boys just don't earn a lot of loyalty from me, especially when there's no way in he!! that he should have left. So, if he has a great career, I guess the Cincinnati by his name will be good for us. If he flames out of the league quickly, I won't shed no tears. He was here and gone before we really got to know him, so I won't go out of my way to check the box scores to see how he is doing. I'll give him as much loyalty as he gave us....just a little!

He wasn't around long enough for me to become a personal fan....I rooted for him because he was a Bearcat, but don't pay him any more mind than other Cats.
Amazing that Kentucky (hawk, ptoo!) had as many first round NBA draft picks as the entire BE conference! |
