Anyways its good to know coach Cronin feels the same way I do. Uc needs good student athletes, not just guys who are all about winning games.
No one is saying it is good he got into a fight. Why are you even giving your opinion about an incident you didn't see happen? While Gates definitely let his temper get the best of him, it was hardly a big deal. That is why no one who did see it even felt they needed to report it on a message board.

Yo Slick, I didn't need to personally watch the Rodney King beating nor the Nicole Goldman murder to have an opinion on it. How about doing us all a favor? Its funny how you are the voice of logic when its in UC's favor, but when there is something obviously awry, you are either nowhere to be found, or you are finding a way to avoid the obvious. Your opinion is worthless when you make it so obvious that you are willing to report only one side of the story.

Who cares. It is national attention. UC's basketball program needs attention in just about any way it can get it.

Obviously awry? It was obvious enough that everyone that saw the incident didn't feel it was serious enough to bring up here. Part of the reason people are upset here isn't that you reported it, but that you reported false information that made the situation look much worse than it really was. Similar to tabloid journalism.

Pot meet kettle. You're one of the chronically negative posters on this board when it comes to the basketball program. It appears now as if you are looking for things to be negative about just to prove that your perceptions of the program are correct.

There have been threads on the summer league after every session and the people who have witnessed the games live didn't feel compelled to mention what happened. Yet, you tried to portray this as a huge incident that should have been viewed as a negative against the program and one of its key members.

You'll excuse us if we question why thread was created in the first place. Your posting history speaks volumes about where your motivation is.

#1, don't call me Slick. You don't know me and at least owe me that respect. I have not called you any names, just said I think it was irresponsible for you to report about something you obviously know nothing about and to report it with false information.

#2, are you seriously comparing a fight in a summer basketball game with the Rodney King beating and the Nicole Brown-Simpson murder (you could have at least got her name right)? The fact is you did not see what happened or any of the events leading up to it. I did and I saw that it was not that big of an issue. It was nothing more than two players who don't like each other getting inot an argument that led to a couple of punches being thrown. It happens almost every year down at Deveroes. A couple of guys get into a slight scuffle, it is broken up, and that is the end of it. That is exactly what happened here.

Care to shed an example of something I have either been "nowhere to be found" or "finding a way to avoid the obvious"?

I would say that since I actually saw the incident on Wednesday that my opinion is far from being worthless. I reported the facts as I saw them. You however came here asking about an incident you knew little about, and with false information, and immediately chastised someone for their actions during the incident.

It's because he is a troll. Look at his posting history.

If Coach Cronin would ever produce a winner, or get the program to some level of respectability, then maybe there could finally be some positive news to report. Until then, topics like this will be commonplace.

CincyEngGrad is knowledgable and has consistent strong opinions that are more often than not, very accurate. She has taken a lot of BS and personal attacks in this thread. I respect her opinions and her right to voice them. If this forum only had one viewpoint, it would be boring and wouldn't be worth anyone's time to read.

I have no doubt that she is a UC fan and wants this program to be successful. If Cronin is the one to bring us that success, she would back him 100%. Until then, we'll continue to have strong opinions on both side of the fence about his program.

I am not a Yancy Gates lover, but I sure hope he becomes the player we all thought he would be when we signed him. He has been a huge disappointment to me. His attitude this year will be a key component in either reversing this funk we have been in, or continuing the slide. I'v got my fingers crossed hoping that Mick pushes all the right buttons for a change.

c'mon now CincyEngGrad did you really have your dad come on here to defend you??
All it takes is one look at the posting history to see that CincyEngGrad is a troll who hates anything positive regarding UC. Look back through the season...never posts after a win, one of the most frequent posters after a loss. No posts after a positive story, all over the perceived negatives. "It" is a troll that refuses to go away. Thankfully, once UC starts winning consistently, we won't have to hear from CincyEngGrad again (until the next slump).

And to follow that up, it offends me since I am a graduate with a BS and MS from the engineering college.
