Default Tony Pike note even being considered...

What is going on with Tony Pike? He is apparently so poorly thought of by the Panthers' that they brought in Keith Null to start ahead of Pike if Clausen and St. Pierre could not go. Null himself is only in his second year, and had a 49.9 QB rating last year with 4 starts at St. Louis - but he is considered a BETTER OPTION than our Tony Pike?!

Tony had a 150 QB rating last year. What is going on? He must be completely lost in their system. Their season is over and they will not even consider giving him the ball. Amazing.

Confusing, but they haven't cut him. They are bringing him along slowly. Maybe that's better for the long run.

This is pretty darn concerning. He is a tall kid with a good arm. Either they really dislike him or really do like him. I'm hoping its the latter and they just dont want his confidence destroyed by having to run an absolutely terrible offense. I really don't see what downside there would be to at least giving him a shot if they didn't like him. Its not like they are going anywhere this season.

I think you are all confusing the Panther's staff with a staff that might know what the heck they are doing. There is no reason to bring in two sub par QBs midway through the season to start for you when you have an option that knows your playbook already, unless you have absolutely no idea what is going on around you. Confusion is the crutch of the stupid.

Pike had a tough road. He missed much of training camp and he was coming from a system where he never took a snap from center. Learning how to take a snap from center, turn your back to the defense on a play action and read a defense is very difficult. Pike's defensive reads were never his strength to begin with.

It's a given that this staff is not going to be here next year, my guess is the decision not to play Pike is coming from upstairs. The haven't released him, this offense sucks, let these bums get knocked around for NFL min. Remember Brady was a 6th rd pick and didn't play until his 2nd season or so.
